​What is ChangeMakers?

 

ChangeMakers is an after school enrichment program designed to build self-esteem, resilience, authenticity, compassion and a positive mindset. Through team building activities, games, acting, stories, crafts, and meaningful discussion, children are empowered to use their voices, find their brave and create change!

Past topics include:

• Leadership + Courage

• Friendship + Empathy

• Mindfulness + Self-Regulation

• Multiple Intelligences

• Becoming Anti-Racist

In the spring, we run ChangeMakers 2.0 where we use the leadership and communication skills we have built in ChangeMakers to facilitate a true student-initiated change.

​

The first group of CM2.0 students worked to transition their school cafeteria from disposable plastic utensils to reusable flatware. Check out the video below to see their KID POWER IN ACTION!

Other student-initiated impact projects include

• Creating a (now annual!) Youth Pride Parade

• Working to smash the stigma surrounding food insecurity

• Raising money for Ukrainian refugees

• Creating a holiday Elf Shelf to spread the joy of giving
